Balon Cafe

Balon Cafe & Restaurant really caught our eye because of the building itself—a unique circular structure right on the water, fully lit up at night and clearly visible from our hotel room. It stands out in the area, which is what made us curious enough to stop by. We had already seen that the Google reviews weren’t particularly high, so we didn’t plan on eating there and kept it simple with just coffee and dessert. What we found instead was a very pleasant surprise. It’s a warm, comfortable place to sit, with a beautiful view right by the water and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to linger. While we can’t speak to the full food menu, for coffee, dessert, and enjoying the scenery, it was a lovely spot—and sometimes that’s exactly what you’re looking for.

The food was tasty, large portions, nice waiters, and the view would have been spectacular but it was pouring heavily during our stay. I recommend this place anyway. One step away from the ferry station..

I recently visited Balon Cafe in Istanbul, and overall, it was an awesome experience. The ambience of the place is fantastic, with a cozy and vibrant vibe that really makes you want to stay longer. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, which added a lot to the experience. Their service was excellent — attentive without being overbearing. As for the prices, they are moderate and reasonable, especially considering the location and the overall atmosphere. Another big plus is the location — it’s just a 1-minute walk from the ferry station, perfect if you’re coming from Eminönü or Karaköy to Kadıköy station. The only thing I’d note is that while the food is good, I believe the quality can be improved in the future
